Black Granite Worktops
Black Gloss Worktops can be prone to scratching which can show up very visable on the gloss worktop finish, but due to the fact that Granite is one of nature's hardest stones you can be assured that it will stay in its original condition just like the day you installed it.

Black Corian® Worktops
Although solid black Corian® Worktops can be produced they are not recommended for heavy traffic areas such as kitchen worktops. This is because the dark solid Corian® colours show up surface scratches and are much more difficult to maintain than the lighter or patterned colours.
Black Stone Effect (composite) Worktops
As with Corian, Composite worktops are not produced in a solid black colour. Our Composite worktops are not just the more cost effective solution to granite, quartz and Corian but are also the market leaders in innovative worktop designs to mention a few. Maia worktops have now created a black composite worktop with mirror particles in it as to mimic the more expensive worktops such as granite and quartz at a fraction of the cost. Composite worktops installation is also a breeze as it is not a specialist installation job. Any fitter that can fit a laminate worktop can fit a composite worktop, and last but not least, seamless joints can also be achieved to give the look of one continuous worktop with no joints.
Black Quartz Worktops
Black Quartz Worktops consist of approx 90% pure quartz and 10% high quality polymers that when put together in the form of a quartz worktop get a high rating of 7 on the moh's hardness scale. This means quartz worktops are extremely durable, hardwearing and scratch resistant like granite. However the presence of the polymers in the quartz makes it a non porous surface unlike granite which is a porous natural stone.
Black Laminate Worktops
Laminate Worktops are the most cost effective solution to your black kitchen worktop requirement. We recommend the choice of textured or honed finishes for black laminate worktops as the gloss finish can be prone to scratching and any scratches that do appear are highly visible on a black worktop surface. Just like a black car, black kitchen worktops do show dirt and marks more easily than other colours and will require higher maintenance.
