Technical Information

• Always leave a gap of at least 3mm where your worktop is positioned between 2 walls as Apollo® Quicktops® quartz can expand as much as 1mm/mtr.
• Maximum unsupported overhang 300mm. If there is a span of worktop without base units it must be supported every 600mm.
• 50mm minimum distance required between cut outs and the front/back edges of the worktops.
• 130mm minimum distance required between two hob cut outs.
• Plastering or tiling should be completed after worktop installation.
• Although quartz engineered stone is one of the hardest substances on earth we always recommend the use of chopping boards when preparing or chopping food to preserve the beauty of your work surface.
• Quicktops® quartz worktops are stain resistant, but it is recommended that spills should be dealt with immediately
• DO NOT place hot pans directly on the worktop, always use pan rests
• Aluminium thermal insulation tape MUST be used around hob cuts to avoid heat conduction causing cracks in the worktop.
• An aluminium foil membrane is required on the underside of the worktop where you have heat-producing appliances - such as a dishwasher, washer or cooker - to deflect heat and moisture.
• Drainer grooves may appear slightly duller than the rest of the polished worktop surface.
• As Quartz is a natural material plain colours can be prone to contamination e.g. white may show small dark spots.
• Darker colours are harder to polish and may be patchy.
• Quicktops® Quartz worktops are batch manufactured and there may be shade variance between batches.
• Apollo® Quicktops® Quartz is tested to BS6222: Part 3 1999 durability of finish for worktops by FIRA.
