Technical Information

• Always leave a gap of at least 3mm where your worktop is positioned between 2 walls as Quicktops® Granite worktops can expand as much as 1mm/mtr.
• Maximum unsupported overhang 300mm. If there is a span of worktop without base units it must be supported every 600mm.
• Minimum distance required from both the front and back edges to a cut out is 50mm.
• Minimum distance required between cut outs is 130mm.
• Plastering or tiling should be completed after worktop installation.
• Although Granite is one of the hardest substances on earth it is advisable to use chopping boards when preparing or chopping food to avoid damaging your kitchen worktop surface.
• Always wipe up spills on your Quicktops® Granite worktops immediately as Granite is slightly porous in nature and may absorb liquids or stains. Although Granite worktops are sealed before leaving the factory they will require re-sealing every 1-2 years.
• DO NOT place hot pans directly on the worktop, always use pan rests
• Aluminium thermal insulation tape MUST be used around hob cut outs to avoid heat conduction causing cracks in the worktop.
• An aluminium foil membrane is required on the underside of the worktop where you have heat-producing appliances - such as a dishwasher, washer or cooker - to deflect heat and moisture.
• The surface of the worktops may be duller in appearance where there are drainer grooves than over the rest of the polished surface.
• As the Granite of the Apollo® Quicktops® worktops is a natural product, variations in colour, pattern and veining can vary dramatically throughout each individual slab and therefore throughout your worktops.
• Fissures, spots, pit marks or blotches can be expected due to the natural flaws in rock formation.
